Frequently asked questions

Pants or shorts?

Pants if they have to work in the city, shorts if they are for the heat. The knitted cotton pants pass at a relaxed office with a knitted polo, the linen pants at a summer dinner. Shorts in cotton are for the city in July, linen shorts for the beach, and the wool and cashmere shorts for warm evenings at home. Same waist and fit on both.

Which material should I start with?

Knitted cotton. The cotton pants work most months of the year, go in the machine and sit well with both a polo and a hoodie, so they get worn. Add linen when the summer comes, since nothing else is as cool in July. Add wool and cashmere last, for evenings at home and travel, when you know you want a set with the matching hoodie.

What size should I take in pants with an elastic waist?

Your usual size. The elastic waistband and drawstring give room either way, and the regular fit has a straight leg that is neither slim nor wide. The model on most of our pants and shorts is 185 cm, weighs 85 kg and wears a large. Go one size up only if you want a wider leg or plan to wear the pants low on the hip.

Do knitted pants shrink in the wash?

Not at 30 degrees, dried flat or hung. The cotton pants and shorts go in the machine with similar colours, the linen pants hang to dry, and the wool and cashmere pants go on a wool programme or by hand and dry flat. The tumble dryer is the risk for all three: heat shrinks a knitted waistband and shortens linen, so leave it out.

Pants and shorts for men

Everything we make below the waist is on this page, in three materials and two lengths. The knitted pants come in wool and cashmere, in knitted cotton with a little elastane for stretch and in Spanish linen. The shorts come in the same wool and cashmere, in a high twist cotton that feels cool against the skin and in linen. All of them have an elastic waistband with a drawstring, side pockets and a regular fit, so they sit like sweatpants and look like trousers. Designed in Stockholm to go with our knitwear, and sold in our store on Grev Turegatan.

Pants or shorts, and which material

Pants if the bottom half has to work in the city, shorts if it is for the heat and the holiday. The knitted cotton pants are the pair for most of the year: softer than chinos, neater than sweatpants, with a straight leg that works with a knitted polo at the office or a hoodie at the weekend. The wool and cashmere pants are for evenings at home, long flights and slow weekends, and come with a hoodie in the same knit if you want a full set. The linen pants are for the warmest weeks, with a slightly heavier linen that falls straight and creases less than you expect. Among the shorts, the cotton shorts are the ones for the city in summer, the linen shorts for the beach and the terrace and the wool and cashmere shorts for warm evenings at home. If you are starting from nothing, take the cotton pants first, then add linen for July and wool and cashmere for the sofa in November.

Fit and care

Regular fit with a soft waist, so the size is forgiving. Choose your usual size, or one size up if you want a wider leg. The model on most of the pants and shorts is 185 cm, weighs 85 kg and wears a large. Cotton and linen go in the machine at 30 degrees and hang to dry. Wool and cashmere go on a wool programme at 30 degrees or by hand, dried flat. None of them go in the tumble dryer, which is what shrinks a knitted waistband and shortens linen.

See the knitted pants and the shorts on their own pages, or everything in linen.
