The zip hoodie is 100 % Royal Cashmere in a light 12 gauge, open as a jacket or closed as a sweater. The Cashmere Hoodie is 90 % merino wool and 10 % cashmere in 7 gauge, with matching joggers and shorts.

Does a cashmere hoodie pill?

A little in the first weeks, then it stops. Pilling comes from short fibres working their way to the surface, and Royal Cashmere uses long fibres at 15.2 microns, so the Royal Cashmere Zip Hoodie pills less than ordinary cashmere. Comb off any pills with a cashmere comb. The Cashmere Hoodie in 90 % merino wool and 10 % cashmere pills even less, since the wool holds the knit.

How do I wash a cashmere hoodie?

On a wool programme at 30 degrees or by hand, as rarely as possible. Close the zip, turn the hoodie inside out, use a wool detergent and low spin, then press the water out in a towel and dry it flat with the hood laid out. Never hang it wet and never tumble dry it. Between washes, airing overnight removes most odours, since cashmere is naturally resistant to them.

Can I wear a cashmere hoodie every day?

Yes, if you air it between wears and rotate it with another sweater. Royal Cashmere is knitted from long fibres that keep their shape, but any cashmere wears faster at the cuffs and elbows if worn daily. For a hoodie that takes daily use, the Cashmere Hoodie in 90 % merino wool and 10 % cashmere or a Cashfeel Merino Hoodie is the harder wearing choice.

Two hoodies. The Royal Cashmere Zip Hoodie is knitted in 100 % Royal Cashmere, a 12 gauge plain knit with a full zip and a hood, in grey, taupe and navy. The Cashmere Hoodie is knitted in 90 % merino wool and 10 % cashmere in a heavier 7 gauge, a pullover hoodie with a chunkier feel, in greige and navy, with joggers and lounge shorts in the same knit. Both are two ply and regular fit. Designed in Stockholm and sold in our store on Grev Turegatan.

The Royal Cashmere Zip Hoodie is the softest and lightest hoodie we make. Open over a t-shirt it works as a light jacket on an autumn evening, closed it is a cashmere sweater with a hood, and under a coat the hood replaces a scarf. In grey or navy it passes at a relaxed office. The Cashmere Hoodie is the one for home, travel and slow weekends. The 7 gauge knit has more weight, the merino makes it take more wear, and with the joggers or shorts in the same colour it is a full set for a long flight or a Sunday. Choose the Royal Cashmere Zip Hoodie if the hoodie will be worn out of the house and you want pure cashmere. Choose the Cashmere Hoodie if you want the heavier knit and a set to go with it.

Fit and care

Both hoodies have a regular fit that sits close without being tight, so choose your usual size. The model in the Royal Cashmere Zip Hoodie is 183 cm and weighs 76 kg. Air the hoodie between wears instead of washing it. When it needs a wash, use a wool programme at 30 degrees or wash by hand, close the zip first, dry flat and fold it rather than hang it, so the hood and shoulders keep their shape. A little pilling in the first weeks is normal in cashmere and comes off with a cashmere comb.
